Hey all. 2023 TRD Sport. Just got it. Downloaded the Toyota app via play store and entered all my info and verified my subscription with a code they sent me via email and entered into the touchscreen in the vehicle to activate it. It worked for a day or so, now it it on and off. It's like it's not sending/receiving a signal all the time. I can start the vehicle and lock and unlock the doors with the app on my phone. But when it comes to using the remote, it's very sporadic. I know that you have to push the lock button 3 times and on the third time keep the lock button depressed for about 2-5 seconds and the parking lights will flash 3x and then the vehicle will start. It HAS worked only a few times out of the 30 times I've tried. Both remotes are acting the same way. Both have new batteries as well. I have a silicon cover on my daily use remote to protect it from damage while I'm at work as I work in underground electrical construction and tend to get dirty a lot. I have removed the cover and tried it standing 10-12 feet from the vehicle and it doesn't seem to make a difference with or without the silicon cover. My spare key has the same issue. Does anyone else have the same or similar issues with their remote? Is it something that has to be "learned" or am I not using it correctly? And typically what is the remote range for the remote start? I'm guessing if you can unlock or lock the doors, you can remote start the truck from the same distance. And how long does this "trial" subscription last and will it still work after the trial is done? Lotta questions.

I would check under the dash for an always-on gps tracker

My dad just had this issue with his F150. His key fob barely worked half the time.

F150's lighter plugs are always on(tacomas aren't, so not an avenue here). His knockoff USB charger he kept plugged in was sending out enough EMI to disrupt the local economy.

Unplugged the USB charger, and his fob worked perfect

Interesting. I don't have a charger plugged in to the port but I do have a dash cam plugged in. I will try and unplug to see if it makes a difference. And I will check under the dash for any type of GPS tracker devices.....and I hope there isn't anything like that in the vehicle. Thank you.
