Same as existing fob unless you add and carry a second long range remote

Or get Smartstart which works over cellular. See my signature.

Hello can you clarify, if I remote start the truck, and open a door it will turn off? even if I have the key in my pocket?

    Yes. Hasn't changed.

Since this is a long thread it's probably easy to miss some of the prior statements on the topic; have a look at posts beginning around #276.

For anyone using the posi tap, all you need are the 24-26 awg ones.

Trying to save others the $10 for the 20-22 awg, which I bought just in case.

Okay I think I'm ready to try this remote start in my taco my only question is. Is there a way I can put heat shrink on the wires after I solder them on to the existing wires. I know I can use electrical tape but I've seen them fail many times before and I'll feel a lot more comfortable with is heat wrapped for the long run.
    Thank you

Think i'm going to order one. It would be nice to have a warm car after clearing my car off. - I know wire stripping is the best way to go but it sounds like a lot of people are having good luck with 24-26 gauge positap. Still trying to figure out what route to go....

Received my remote start like two or three days after I ordered it. Talk about fast shipping! The kit is neat and so freakin easy to install. However, one draw back is that I had to special order some T-tap connectors from Oreilly's auto parts (Ow!). Once I had the T-taps, I added male connectors to each of the wires on the provided harness (awesome harness btw). Total install time from adding the make connectors to testing the final product was about two hours. Mostly because the damn wires are so small and the directions were wrong on the PTS Connection. Luckily there is an install video on this thread that got me through it.

All in all, I'm super pumped. Great product, great support on TW, and easy to install. Here are some shots of the kit as it arrived, and also a video of the kit in action. IMG_9935.jpgIMG_9936.jpg

I know it has been discussed before and just a few posts up about the door kill feature, but just wanted to know if there is any research being done (currently) to bypass this?
Very interested since I've had remote start on past vehicles but the door thing bums me out. Thanks in advance.

The door kill most likely won't change, but like people have said, it's not an issue in practice.

How would I add the ability to use my phone to start my truck with this kit?

I understand it would be through "smartstart", but what exactly is smartstart? Is it an extra module I need to buy or just an app I need to get?

    Thanks
