I got a remote start installed and for the most part I love it. However, when it is below about 30* outside, it sometimes takes multiple attempts for the truck to turn over (cranks but doesn't turn). If it would crank for another second, it would work the first time. So 2 questions:

    1) Is there any way to program it to crank a little bit longer?

    2) If not, am I causing any damage by using it 2-4 times before it finally starts?

Remote start is a Viper 4105V

    THANKS!

I have been installing remote starter for couple years now.
Not sure how they hooked up your tach signal its a violet/white wire on the viper it should be connected on the obd2 pin9 if it is hooked up. On a cold morning start your truck and and press and hold the valet button the viper within 10sec until the light on the module turns on then release, if the light does not turn on,tach isn't hooked up its on virtual tach mode not reliable on cold mornings as its only set to crank for 0.8sec default.

    ^^ This

You may need to turn up the crank time feature.
