    THIS and definitely THIS.

It was 113˚ this weekend and I was out walking around with my daughter in downtown Gilbert, AZ. We hugged the side of the street in the shade and were lingering under the misters from the restaurants in the area.

About 5 minutes before we got to my truck, I started it so when we got inside, it was a nice cool chamber of coolness.

And luckily I have a buddy that works doing car audio installs so he put it in for me.

I took full advantage of my remote start with the ac on today as it was 107° . Felt very nice getting into a car with the ac blasting cold air

Got the Viper DS4+. No alarm, just the remote start. I need to tie it in with the app on my phone but it's working just fine as-is.

Buddy in question actually works as an installer at the Best Buy in San Tan Village. Drives a built 4th Gen T4R, so he's in the Yota family...!

    Hmmm, that's odd.

I'm in an '06 so it's pretty much the same thing?

I'd call them and as to talk to someone in the installation crew. Tell them what you have and what you're looking at and they'll set you straight.

Compustar 7900as kit. Comes with cm900as brain, I purchased a blade AL to streamline remote start wiring and purchased the USB ftdi to serial cable to program. I have an array of options that I can modify through my laptop.

It is nice to display interior temperature and remote start with the included prime t9 remote. I have wired up the remote start to turn on the AC with the vehicle as well.

Overall it took me a few days to properly install along with helpful resources here from TW. I have installed many alarms but each one is a bit different. I think you will enjoy the capabilities of this kit in terms of multiple aux outputs, easy programming features and the remote is just awesome to have. Especially with 3000 yards range and the ability to check vehicle status with a button. Check out my previous threads for great information.

I spent about $250 for everything, $170 for 7900as kit with prime t9 remote, $50 for blade al and $30 for the cable. Retail is not too much more but I found good deals on eBay.

@SpeedwayTaco160 2010 is the split year Toyota messed around with things and may use a different kit. If your key has a DOT on the metal portion of it, you would use the 05 - 09 kit. If your key has a G on the shaft, you would use the 11 - 15 kit. We recommend ordering based on the above but 2010 is an odd year and there is a very, very small chance that neither of the kits above will work and you would need a 3rd version of the kit. Hope it helps!

My Taco came with a Compustar system installed, and while it's handy, the remote starter seems to have disabled my alarm? Now the lights flash, but the horn doesn't honk or anything. It's weird.

(I wouldn't really care, except I camp in bear country sometimes and being able to set off the alarm might come in handy if I were sleeping in the back and they came a little too close for comfort).

Anyway, might be an issue to watch out for unless mine's a fluke.

Wonder if it’s a setup issue or install issue?

Who knows, and it just seems too complicated to try and reverse engineer. I wonder if the problem is that I don't have an OEM key fob (the truck just came with the two compustar fobs)? Although, if that's the case, then why do the lights flash but not the horn? The fob is obviously sending some signal. I don't get it.
