If you want just a remote start you can go a cheaper way by having a Valet 561T put in or something similar, it uses your factory remote to trigger the remote start. I put one on my truck. The only set back is that the tacoma disables the lock/unlock function once the truck starts so I press unlock 3 times to remote start but I can't lock it back or cancel the remote start. The only way to cancel is to go to the truck and press the brake. I don't mind it though. I like having a factory remote. That Valet should run you about 100 and the install depends but when I use to install, it was about 100 I think.

oh and if you want both alarm and remote start, viper or python would be the best...the difference?...nothing internally...the remotes are slightly different and the name of course.
