I appreciate it and will be sure to reach out if I want to try that one. And no, I don't have the MT either. (Unless you didn't mean manual transmission)

Correct, paid yearly. At 39.95, that breaks down to about $3.33 a month and at $99.95 (saves you $20) the breaks down do about $2.77 a month. I lose more coin in my couches a month or spend more on a single cup of java at the coffee shop than that. It is not a contract like your cellular service which binds you because of the co-pay (or full cost coverage) they cover on a new smart phone when you get it discounted or free. They have to bind you into a contract that has an early termination fee because someone has to pay for that phone...and it will always be YOU whether upfront or in increments until they recoup the cost of the device. With the smart module, if you don't pay the subscription after the first free year, not problem; You just have a paper weight in your car until you do. However, most people don't know that insurance companies, at their discretion based on vehicle and zip code give discounts (per month) of $10 - $20 for having a GPS tracking device (which ours does in addition or remote start/stop, lock and unlock which means that in a year or so, your device will have been paid for, and your subscriptions per year would be covered in 2-4 months each year with the rest of the savings going in your pocket. Basically it will be free after your first year and some change.

You wedge a 2 x 4 and walk away. You can't. That's what the clutch cancel or clutch bypass is for.

Incorrect. It's a little bit more autonomous than that. When the remote start is triggered via 3X lock presses on the OEM fob, our module will send a signal to "simulate" the clutch cancel signal, then we remote start the vehicle. We also have procedures in place to avoid starting in gear, ever. Dummy and fool proof.

??? Not sure what that means, but sure...

The Smart Start by Viper/Directed costs $99.99 a year...not cheap compared to our $39.95 a year for the same 4G/LTE speed with same command functions within the smart phone app. Lowest yearly rate in the market.

That's the only thing we want for you as well which is why if your cannot do it from an OEM fob, we won't sell it. No need to bulge out your pockets or carry anything extra that can be potentially lost, more than what you already have now, OEM fob and phone.

I have the N2 remote start kit. I mainly went with it because it used the factory remote and it was all plug and play. It took me less then 15 mins to install. The only thing that sucks is the factory remote distance isnt great but thats not fault of the remote start.

I agree the range on the stock remote sucks. It's why I added the cell module later. I'm happy with it. Only thing I don't like is the engine turning off when you open the door but that's Toyota's fault not N2.

FYI - My keyed (SR5) auto and the iDataStart unit does not suffer from the door opening engine off.

Correct. I should have clarified; the door turning the engine off is push to start thing.

Go with Accessorides for remote start, they make a bunch of neat little harnesses and stuff for our trucks, not just repackaged fortin products, plus they employ veterans. Fast plug and play remote start installation :)

I'm satisfied with the N2 unit with cell add-on. I would say if you live in an area with less than stellar cell service that add-on unit may not be super reliable. I've noticed sometimes it doesn't connect to my app if I'm in an area like that. My normal "home" area its fine though.

You know you can touch your head with the remote while activating it and it will add distance to it.

I will look into them. Do they use the factory remote?

No it’s true. Go out and test it. Go away from your truck until your remote doesn’t work. Then touch it to your head and white in contact with your head try it.

I might get arrested, I don't know where you're from, but in the city they frown upon that type of behavior in public.

And I’ve done it myself. It definitely works.
