Remote start

You can't bypass it. What other questions u got?

 

My buddy figured out how to bypass it on his 2019. He has the n2 designs remote starter, same one I have. He’s going to help me bypass mine next time we’re both in town. I don’t know all the technical details, but basically he looped some wire that fools the truck into not knowing the door has been opened

 

Also, this has been answered numerous times on this site. A cursory search would have been super easy.

I cant testify 100% to this 12volt kit, as I installed the N2Designs kit in my push button start 2017, and it works great. I hear that the hardware is sourced from the same place.

Yes it does. Annoying but no way to by pass it. I just got use to it. It's not gonna wear the starter out any faster.

OK did you not bother to read my post I don’t want the keyless entry that shut your Truck off when you open the door that’s what you got

 

Yeah it will You’re using it two times the amount that you should be that’s double the wear and tare on your starter

 

All keyless entries on the market shutoff when you open the door. You can modify it yourself to bypass that, but nobody will sell you one that already has the bypass because it’s a liability for them

 

You're talking about the remote starts for the Tacoma only right? My Jeep and Ford Escape stay running.

What part of the nation do you live in?

In some states you can get ticketed for starting a car and letting it run to warm up with the keys in
the ignition.. I'm guessing that Toyota circumvented this issue by having the engine turn off
when the door is opened since it is push button start alleviating you from getting ticketed.

 

I'd also point out that it is not double the wear on your starter in general, only for X percentage of the starts that are double due to a cold/warm weather remote start. I can drive around running errands and start the truck 6-8 times, and I don't really concern myself with the extra wear on the starter. I am not typically using a remote start on anything but the initial start, IF the weather is in the extremes. For me, I'd say it adds an additional 25% or so to the lifetime wear.

The capability I am buying and adding is the ability to legally (see comment above, CO calls this "puffing") start my car up on the extreme weather days, with the added benefit of not having to change out of my pajamas first. I somewhat appreciate the hard-coded kill of the engine when the door opens, as there is no subtle feature to circumvent in a clever way and steal the truck. That was a design choice that I can live with from Toyota, since it does not significantly impact my primary capability.

If that is something you cant live with, there are still ways (search for the mod) that can be considered. It doesn't seem like the best hill to die on.
