    I’ve got a 2016 SR5…does anyone have a good recommendation for a remote start. It’s a key, not a push button

Yes, many around here are satisfied. I installed one on my GF’s 4R, wish I would have done my research before paying the dealer hundreds more when buying my Tacoma. It’s plug n play, only knock against them is; they don’t answer phone or return emails,, but I figured it out.

Compustar and Viper are well known and common brands. I've had good results with Compustar. Get the one with 2 way remote. It will tell you if it's working and engine is running. I could start vehicle 1/2 mile away while inside a concrete and steel hockey arena. It was worth having dealer install for me.

I went with Compustar because I wanted alarm and a full suite of other features.

I hear that N2 is solid if you just want remote start and maybe some additional features like remote start via phone, GPS tracking and voltage monitoring.

I do. I also added the Carlink module so I can see it's last known location.

    Very happy with mine.

I've got it. Works great and Jimmy is tops to deal with before and after the sale.

N2 is hands down the easiest install I’ve ever done. Literally less than 20 minutes. Nice quality harness and the “gold standard” Fortin module.

I really love my 2-way Long Range, starter. After Hockey, I can start it up from the dressing room on super cold nights, and come out to a warmed up Taco. (I mean, who doesn't like a warmed up Taco).

Other than that, it also starts with just the oem remote, but only at close distance.
