Is there a setting somewhere where my remote tailgate lock (OEM) only opens with the passenger doors when I press the unlock button on my keyfob?

Not sure I’m liking it opening with my driver side door

That’s how I have mine setup. Ran the wires and tapped in on the passenger side.

Verify that the settings for unlock are indeed once for Driver, twice for passenger. If indeed it's an OEM tailgate lock.

I thought that was the default behavior? Mine only unlocks when I do all the doors. When it was installed did it get plugged into an incorrect harness?

Maybe it wasn't really the OEM part, an aftermarket...

Mine only opens with the passenger locks. Sounds like it is plugged into the wrong location on the passenger's side junction block. Double-check where the pigtail is plugged into.

It’s an OEM tailgate lock as it came with my truck brand new with 9 miles on it last week

I thought OEM was just a rebranded Pop&Lock? Regardless, if it's run to the driver's side harness, I don't think there's anything you can do about it. If it's run to the passenger-side (which is what the "OEM", dealer-installed version calls for) it will work with the passenger-side locks. There are some additional lock/un-lock parameters which can be accessed via TechStream or a good bi-directional scan tool which may help.

If it's dealer-installed ask them to fix it.

i didn’t think it could be run on the drivers side since the plugs are on the passenger kickpanel

Mine unlocks the passenger doors and tailgate after the button is pressed twice by default. I think the kit only plugs into one location on the passenger side footwell and the lock settings are adjusted with the doors through the head unit or via techstream. It's under warranty, so have the dealer change the settings if needed.

Just because it was part of the purchase doesn't make it OEM. Dealer installed does NOT = OEM.

I just finished installing my OEM tailgate electric lock kit last Saturday, and I can verify the wire harness only plugs into ONE plug, and only one way. It's seriously a 'you can't mess this up' installation.

And the default behavior is that the tailgate unlocks with the passenger door. For my truck (2019 Sport) that means second button press to unlock passenger and rear doors plus (now) tailgate. One press only unlocks driver's door and nothing else.

I don't know about the versions which have an actual harness with connectors; I just spliced into the two lock signal wires behind the driver's kick panel, but I also want ALL my locks to open up with a single button-press or touch of the handle sensor.

I just checked the wiring. Looks like my tailgate wiring runs to the drivers side.

Did they really install a pop n lock as a add on for a 2022 like that? Sheesh

That setting is in the head unit. Just change it, like shown in @caribe makaira 's post above.

As stated above installed at dealer doesn't always mean oem, but they may charge you oem pricing. lol The oem tail gate lock wiring harness runs into the passenger side kick panel. I got this and it installed it myself after I got my truck.
