i've been a failure my whole life. set the bar low, and there's nowhere to go but up!

yes, it was an attempt at some humor as well as some advice. i know what you were asking. but i've been screwed before with everyone saying "it's the blue wire!" 2 previous vehicles, i must've bought the vehicle as they were switching production and they had extra wire left from the previous generation, as half the wire colors would be new-gen, and half would be old-gen. one of those, the doorlock solenoid wires changed colors in such a way that what should've been power was now a ground connection, which cost me a whole lot of frustration and blown fuses

You have an LC2i right? If so you can use the GTO.....

GTO™ Great Turn On: No need to look for a trigger wire. However you still need power and ground. Connect the speaker level inputs and as soon as you turn on the factory audio system the LC2i will power up as well. After the LC2i turns on, it provides a 12 volt trigger output to turn on your amplifier. A Jumper which you can reach from the end panel allows you to set this feature on/off for specialized installations. The factory default setting for the GTO™ circuit is always ON.

yup! Decided to go this route. The LC2i worked like a charm. So for this is what I got and everything is working perfectly. Now I need to trim the plastic so I can accommodate the back seat. As it stands right now, I can't lock the back seat into place. I will have to take a breather and think this through.

My amp is under the drivers seat on my 21 and I tapped into the center console usb power wire. Remote wire runs under the carpet and up under the shifter/console area and connected using a wire splice connector.

Another question if I may, so while tuning my amps I noticed that my sound levels are drastically different between sources. My Sirius xm source sounds pretty loud compared to when I used Android auto or Bluetooth (much lower) Is this the same for you guys? Wondering if is just my POS phone. I'm having a hard time doing a precised tuning with the test tones in my phone. I'm happy with it but wondering how much juice I got left. Not a big deal, but wondering if anyone else noticed the same. For the first time I wished the radio had a CD player lol.

Disregard... Is my POS phone. I tried my son's iPhone and the volume level between sources stayed consistent.

FWIW I do notice sound level and sound quality differences between sources and even from the same source. I listen to Pandora mostly and even from song to song there are differences. I’m guessing it’s because everything’s digitized now and it depends on how good a copy they started with? Or? But there definitely are variances. I’m a product of 8 track to records to cassettes and then to CD’s so I’ve noticed the changes over time.

Where did you ground your amp to? I heard seat bolts are not a good idea

Stock ground. Cleaned off some paint with sandpaper to get some bare metal contact. Remove the carpet and it’s right there in between the seat bolts.

I’ve done the seat bolt in the past without issues.
