I was wondering if the AC condenser, aux tranny cooler and radiator could get a better air flow. I came up with this removable air dam. It is 4.25" X 27" aluminum and held in place by three plastic clips. I screwed the aluminum sheet metal to a 1"X1" piece of PT painted wood for stability. I used the same clips that are for the under carriage splash shields for a 2009 Corolla. I drilled three 5/16" holes in the stock skid plate which were a snug but easy fit for the plastic clips. Air dam removal is under a one minute job as is the re-install.
I spent about an hour fabricating (cutting, drilling, sanding and painting). Initial test drive showed a 5 degree cooler temp in both the engine and tranny temps per Torque Pro after install. That was with driving at 45 MPH around town with the AC on.
Of course at a stop the temps went back up to a before install normal reading but quickly went back down once moving.
I had all the material used laying around so this was a very low budget idea.
Maybe useful for those that cover the air vents with light bars.
