Does anyone know if the lower panel under the A/C controls pops out?

I'm talking about where the ECT button is. I want to use the blank near it to put my dual battery voltage meter. Just not sure do I need to remove the whole lower panel or does that black portion its around that has all the buttons and the 12V just pop out similar to how the cubby to the left of the steering wheel comes out?

It looks like the same design with it clipping into the dash, but I dont want to take a trim tool to it trying to pry it out when it doesn't actually come out...

There's nothing mentioned in the factory service manual on the removal of just that portion where the switches are housed but the entire lower trim, like if you wanted to swap it to the TRD Sport interior.

You have to remove a lot of panels to get that out. I swapped in a 5 slot from my factory 3 switch panel for my heated seats. I started on the drivers side and worked all the way across to get it out. And pull the shift console out.

Yeah the center piece hooks behind the panels next to it. No way to pop it out. It's not terribly difficult, but you have to disassemble quite a bit of the interior.

I need to remove mine as well. Do you have a link or can you tell me where in the service manual it explains how to do this?

    Thanks!!

I'll try and remember to post it when I'm home. At work now, don't have it with me. If not just bump the thread again so I see the notification. Unless someone else can post it first

No need. Remove the bezel around radio. Pull out A/C control area. Plenty of access to the area you want to use without removing it. The blank just pops out.
