Removal of Shift knob?

does the shift knob in 05+ tacomas come off by twisting it? is it threaded? how do you take off the shift knob to put a different one on?

 

Turn it to the left, they are tight as hell from the factory but it just screws off.

 

righty tighty; lefty loosy

 

...that means left at the 12:00 position.

or just untwist it like its a cap to a bottle of mt dew or something.
