Some people don't want a scratched up truck. We know you don't care but a lot of people do. Saying its a truck doesn't mean anything. Do you iron your jeans? Anybody who goes out and doesn't want to look like wrinkly shit prob does. But I can tell you prob have a scratched truck and messy ass clothes. SOME people but not all like to present better. YMMV

Get a polisher and some plastic polish and go at it. They will go away

Going to be hard on an off-road. Short of replacing the flair, light polishing is your best option. Be careful though. It will be really easy to affect the texture in the plastic.

Some of that looks more like transfer than scratches.

I'd use some mineral spirits (if it is paint transfer) to clean it up. Renew the finish with SolutionFinish, and then use SolutionFinish sealer on it. Should really diminish what you can see.

I would remove any paint transfer using goo gone or something similar (maybe lightly use a light polish or magic eraser). If that whiteish is from the plastic being abraded rather than paint transfer, then gently use a heat gun and it should help with that. After that, apply some 303 aerospace and it will hardly be noticeable.

Has anyone has tried the propane torch method? But really, I think mud flaps will save your fender flares.

Depending on how deep if it doesn’t come off with a little polish. Then try using some GTechniq (https://gtechniq.com/shop/auto/wheels-trim/c4-permanent-trim-restorer/)which helps restores to finish and should hide/blend the scratch.

I have pinstripes on my flares from off-roading and the GTechniq helped with hiding them. FYI, the GTechniq doesn’t get rid of the scratches.

I own a ranch, my taco does more truck things than 99.9% of the Tacos out there. But sure, if you say so.

I've used a heat gun to take scratches out of interior vinyl. The heat makes that area "shinier" in my experience though, so beware.

    Why do people say this?
My truck is dented up from hail and I've determined the cost to repair it is not worth it.
When I get pinstriping from trails I buff it out or scrape paint off anything on rocks I paint it say it's protected from rust and less noticeable.
When I get rock chips I touch them up.
I was raised to take care of my shit.
I also wash my truck and steam my jeans when they're wrinkled because when you don't live on a farm and have to interact on a daily basis appearance matter.
You're just trying to make someone feel stupid for asking a valid question for some weird internal reason.
But this is Tacoma World where people talk about things like how to best remove scratches from fender flares not Therapy World.

Because it's an unfinished plastic fender flare. If it was a metal body panel, yeah paint it. You don't want to invite rust in. But making a fuss over that...it's downright silly.

My ranch doesn't serve as a regular source of income, I have a "normal" job that affords me a high enough income to own a ranch. It's cool you think people who work and/or live on a farm are filthy slobs though. Yet you're in need of laundry tips from a dirty rancher...fold or hang your jeans when you take them out of the dryer instead of rolling them in a ball and throwing them in the corner. Then they won't need to be steamed.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep a truck nice. I'm an amateur detailer and scratches, dents, and swirls drive me crazy. Agreed, those look like transfer marks.

Lol, yup farmers are filthy slobs that's exactly what I said.
Glad you have a high income, want to you compare pay checks?
Hahaha, also thanks for the laundry tips I never knew you could fold and hang clothes after taking them out of the dryer.
I said "if" my jeans are wrinkled I steam them not I always have to steam my jeans.
My only point was you were trying to make somebody feel stupid for no reason and contributed nothing to the conversation other than us having a pissing contest.
Anyways, I hope you have a great day out there recreationally plowing the fields and wiping your brow with wads of cash.
