I just picked up a 2010 DCSB TRD and the front seat is killing my back. Even with the lumbar support cranked all the way in I can feel the pad jamming into my spine.

Is it possible to take the seat apart and modify the lumbar support so that it retracts further into the seat?

Does anyone have pics or diagrams of the seat internals?

Do I have to do anything special to keep the side airbag from going off in my face, besides disconnecting the battery and unplugging it?

you might have a fautly one bud. I would definetely disconnect the side airbag if your messing around near it just in case.

actually i just went out and played with the seat, and it looks like it's the bar that goes across the bottom of the backrest, below the lumbar support, that's giving me issues.

Same question though.. has anyone ever taken the seat apart and tried to modify that bar to move it into the backrest more?

Strange about your seat though. I can't feel that bar at all pushing with my hand.

I had the same problem with my 2008.
I have three cages in my back at L3-4-5 and now am fused. That bar hurt my back so bad I was not able to drive the truck.
I had to have the seat modified by having a Styrofoam wedge made approx 1 inch thick that tapered to 1/4 inch. It fit in the flat part of the seat. It was installed by taking out the seat. Cutting a piece of 1/4 plywood and fitting that between the springs and foam seat bottom, then the styrofoam was slid between the bottom of the seat and the plywood.
What it did was get me higher that the bar.
This was easy because I did not have to take the seat cover off. Just remove the seat couple of clips,

I just bought a 2014 may have to do the same thing again.

    good luck
