Your truck looks good. Like the no bars better. Mine came with the oem cast running boards and I think it looks much better without them. Keeps mud off the back of my pants too

the oval ones on the op's look crappy imo, the predators are just waiting to get bent, my only interest in steps is the 2nd gen oems that are tucked in good, alum with a durable coating and block dirt, snow from being thrown on the sides.

Just another thing to bend if it makes contact. If you run aggressive offroad tires, they seem incongruous. Sorta like combining hiking boots and a business suit.

At stock height I found them just an obstacle to step over when getting in my truck and my wife who's barely over 5 feet agreed. Now mine are in the attic of my shed and if I feel we need a step after I've lifted the truck then I'll consider putting them back on. For me, it's not worth selling them.

By no means is it a slider, but it is strong. I got hung up on the right side at the top of Pronghorn and ground the weight of the truck against it on the bedrock sandstone with side to side action of the wheel and the poor man’s locker. I cringe listening to that part of the video as the truck was inching forward. Almost did it too, until I went sideways. Game over. Maximum grinding. And to my surprise, it wasn’t even dented or lost any form whatsoever.

I did the same as I wanted to protect the rocker panels, but didn’t want sliders as I really don’t wheel hardcore. I just wanted to see if the stock “work truck” coulda done it!

Honest question, why lift a vehicle and then add steps that will decrease your breakover angle to what it previously was (or worse)? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the lift?

Approach and departure are still benefiting. And at the end of the day, if you (or your wife) need a step to get in, it is what it is.

If I had a full-size truck, I think I’d want the ones that extend when you open a door, honestly.

I'm lifting mainly to clear larger tires. Not gonna wheel a $40,000 truck very hard at all. At the end of the day it's a matter of getting in and out more easily. Besides, it's 6 bolts per side to remove them if I decide I want to go wheel it hard.

I’d run without steps if it wasn’t for my vertically challenged wife.
