Plenty of people here have lifted their Tacomas (including me) and had zero issues without the diff drop.

In theory it sounds like a good idea. But the off chance that you accidenty run over something even on the freeway the results can be catastrophic. Why take the risk?

Have you looked at your front axles, are the fins touching? Do the angles look extreme?

For those that have removed their diff drop, did you just buy the oem bolt or chopped the bolt? Trying to see how to go about removing mine. That the previous owner installed.

I just threw the 2 long bolts back in it. They poked through pretty and got kinda to close to a hard p/s line thats above the frame member but i just pushed the line to the side a little bit to make room. Ive checked it several times since and the line is close to the bolt ends but nothing is rubbing

I was able to just add the skid over the diff drop. I’ll probably end up removing it later, but the RCI skids have 2 bumps that compensate for the diff drop. So even if I did what OP did, there’s that bumps that would deflect back. Just my experience.

Adds a couple anchors to his skid plates, then blames the thing behind the anchors...

Can someone make this thread disappear, please...along with the “it just rotates it Bro” fan group.
