I think people using the heat gun are having the actual issues. The heat seems to be separating the sticker into 2. I literally just let mine sit in the sun. I used a finger nail and they came off in about 30 seconds. They left the smallest little white residue that took my thumb rolling over it to take it off. I did do this the first day I got it but both stickers took less than 2 minutes. It took me longer to take off the "4x4" on the truck bed but after getting out the fishing line that one took about a minute and a half leaving no residue behind.

This is the way. Using the corner of the rubber disc in low RPM setting of DeWalt cordless is making quick work of it. Done in 2 minutes.

Appears the previous gen decals were single layer vinyl or some other stretchy material, but these are two layer with crazy adhesive. Removal of the other TRD decal will be as follows:

    - Heat and remove outer vinyl layer with heat gun on LOW, 2-3 inches away using constant moving motion

    - Use corner of 3M adhesive removal disc at low RPM to remove adhesive layer in thin strips from top to bottom working left to right

    - Remove debris with wet towel and wipe one pass with adhesive removal compound

    - Light pass with polishing compound to remove any swirls / imperfections

    - Re-wax

You could be right here regarding long standing, even heating of the sun.

Trying to apply more gradual / even heat with the heat gun on the other side still left the white adhesive behind, but it appears there is a third / middle metallic layer that didn’t come off with the last decal.

In the end, I had great results removing both decals with the method above. If I had to do it all again, would take about 30 min total.

    Says Baja CA 5/24.

Maybe it is also the color. Mine is Ice Cap. I really have no idea but seriously it was that easy. I had the goo gone, heat gun, detailing stuff all ready to go as I thought it was going to be a PITA. My sun visor sticker removal was a far harder project.

I think maybe Guano has different stickers and glue. Took me three hours to do this!

At least we all have that same good taste of getting rid of those ugly cheap looking stickers

The dedication is real. Hopefully you all treated yourselves to a nice adult beverage for all the hard work.

My TRD bed sticker on my Quicksand 2020 DCLB did NOT come off with outside heat (was + 101 in late August when I tried), a heat gun, nor Goo Gone.
I ended up having to use a 4" wonder wheel for residue removal, got it on Amazon, then used a clear coat finish stage polish to restore the area.

Worked a treat in the end.

Definitely not in my case. I did in fact try sun first off, as the rest of it seemed like a PITA. Didn't make a $hits but if difference.
I then was sure Goo Gone would work........
    Also nada.

Yea, I think a tequila shot and cold Corona is in order. I have a blister on my thumb.

Moral of the story: listen to your Mom when she says don’t bite your fingernails. They come in handy on occasion.

Need to let mine grow out before I finish the passenger side.

Japs evidently don’t know it can be pronounced as “turd.”

Having one sticker on one side and not one on the other, just think of it as one short sock and one long sock. You are a trend setter. ;)

My TRD Sport sticker was removed the day I brought it home. Came off in one piece.

I would never attempt this as much as I hate the trd off road stickers. I know the paint would get screwed up with my luck so they stay on.

I kinda like the 3rd gen TRD Offroad sticker, it was a little larger and more colorful than the 4G.

I think the 4G sticker is too small, looks out of place. I removed it.
