Do NOT use a heat gun those things are designed to remove paint. The sun or maybe a hairdryer would be better options.

First of all that's up to you. I would not ask people a question like that because you know you are going to get the answers remove them or keep them. Being you asked my answer is keep them. I like the contrast it gives to the truck. That's my opinion and I am sticking to it.

I'll bet if you ask most people that have shopped the used market, most potential buyers are looking for that sticker on trucks they might be interested in. No problem with removing it now as its your truck, do what you want with it but if you ever go to sell, might want to be sure it's reinstalled to attract the most buyers.

I'm not a fan of over use of chrome and performance stickers. I painted the grill, removed the B-piller stickers and TRDOR bed stickers. Now it looks less shouty and more conservative.

I'd leave them. They look cool on the 3rd gen.

Its all about whether you like them or not. I personally did not like them and removed them the day after I bought my truck. Heat gun on lowest setting barely heated them and left almost no residue. I also removed all of the badges and for now have Plasti dipped all the chrome bumper and grill. Now my truck has the look I wanted so I'm very happy that I did it.

Gosh I just can't make a choice on my own without the fear of someones opinion.

I think you should take it off and put one on your hood.

In general I am not a fan of stickers but I plan to leave mine. I find removing it makes the long box look even longer. But that is just my opinion. This very subjective.

If I had a short box I would seriously consider removing it to make it look a little longer. I find the short box double cabs look a little bit out of proportion.

edit: I see you removed them... looks very nice.

How will anyone know you're driving a Toyota Tacoma if you remove it?! People are going to point and laugh and say "hey look at that guy in the Jeep, he should have bought a Tacoma"

@StreetTiresJay Those people could laugh all they want. I would know and other Taco owners would know what it is. No need to satisfy non-Taco owners. :)

@TrdSurgie Ill think about the TRD on hood. It may look out of place and beats the clean look.

I like my TRD Offroad decal. Why would I remove it. Lol. I'd be reduced to a 4 cylinder sr5 in 30min.
    It's a tacoma guys...there is no mystery.
Instead of worrying about the decals get a proper lift and set of wheels/tires. You should be more worried about getting the wrong lame wheels.

Before you remove them (which I would do too)

Lay out some painters tape, and carefully mark measurements on the tape from fixed reference points.

    Take pictures.

That way if you decided to buy and reinstall new stickers in the future, you'll know exactly how to lay out and position them.

would the dealership do it after the fact if paid to take them off?? would rather spend a tad not to mess up the paint
