I just removed carpet in the 2002 Double cab and let me tell you that carpet is so thin. I like the naked look actually. Carpet stinks of previous owner 20 years. So I will toss it and might order new carpet. But for now I will drive as is. Tank mode! Also found Rubbers under the carpet ?!

As thin as that carpet and padding is, it still offers a significant amount of sound and heat insulation.

It will sound like driving around in a tin can. If you haven't gotten rid of it yet, I'd suggest just washing (carpet cleaner and a hose will do wonders) it and reinstalling. That stuff is fairly expensive to replace.

Used or still in package? Size? Too big, too small? Wrong color? Ribbed? Smooth? Lubed?

    What is the problem?

    If you have opportunity.....use 'em.

Was gonna say - that, and hot. That insulation blocks heat transfer and sound.

LOL, my interior looks EXACTLY like your's right now. It's incredible how much crap I found under the carpets. Instead of throwing it out, I purchased Meguiar's carpet cleaner and I plan to use it on the entire interior and seats.

Oh yeah, I want to add. If you plan to change the bulb in the shifter, now is the time to do it.

@SiberianTacos, Since you've gone that far you may as well order up some Dynamat or similar and lay that down while you're waiting on your new carpet. Oh, and give it a good scrubbing. Maybe clean and paint all the rusty parts :p

Yeap all the rusty part were soaked in Vinegar for 24 hours and cleaned up with baking soda. Then washed. I have not painted them yet. But that will come later. I have Kill Mat and Noico. Plan is to go to car wash and vacuum out the interior give it a good wash. Then treat interior with killmat and noico. After that install the carpet. Also considering removing back seat and installing only 1 bucket seat. So I can setup my fridge on one side

Rent a carpet cleaner or better yet find someone with a steam cleaner. Cheap and easy to clean the carpet. Good for getting the stink out of the seats too

I have a brother in law that owns a body shop. Over the last 30 years all of his personal vehicles have been wrecks that he picked up cheap and repaired. Back in 2006 he got a 2006 F150 with only 600 miles on it. When he was working on the drivers door panel he found a 9mm pistol. On those model trucks there is a small compartment under the panel where the window controls go. It just pops open to access the wiring inside.

He called the police who ran the SN. It hadn't been reported stolen so they told him that as far as they were concerned he bought the gun with the truck. A few years later the power window on the passenger side stopped working. When he took the panel on that side off he found a bag of pot. Which he flushed down the toilet.

Well I listened to you and just came back from hand car wash. Placed the carpet in my trucks bed and laid it out flat Paid the coins and used high pressure soap and then fresh water. Turned it over and did the same. After that used the car wash power full vacuum and sucked up most of the water. Its now parked outside drying. in the bed of the truck. The spots that were stubborn I used vinegar and water and removed the stains. I hope the carpet doesnt smell like wet dog after it dries.. Thanks for sending me down the right path my friend!

I had the same issues with my carpet. The previous owner let it pretty nasty. Some of the stains were never going to come out and there were some spots that the carpet was pretty much worn off. I replaced it all with carpet from stock interiors with mass backing. It was a nice replacement.
