After two extensive evenings of night driving along dark Texas backroads with LED headlight bulbs, i went back to the Sylvania Ultra SilverStar bulbs.

The Xenon Depot LED bulbs just do not have the lighting range and I found myself being unsafe with the limited lighting. I found myself constantly trying to see the road beyond the LED lighting pattern.

I may opt for those nasty HID lights, but I will wait a bit before I pull the trigger.

I am not mad about the Xenon Depot LED lighting range, but I am disappointed.

i have them from @TRSAndrew. Seem to be great and customer service is great. I seen a review on a VLED LED Headlight it was very bright, but had a huge amount of glare and scatter light.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
I have "those nasty HID lights" on my truck and am very satisfied with them. Great performance and range. And they annoy all the other drivers, I get flashed all the time.

Heh no biggie,l let the guys that love doing retrofits etc mess with that expensive game and come up with best solution. Early in the game of this truck I am sure there will be tons of proven options by spring next year.

I call HIDs nasty because of the glare to others and the crap you need to do for installing them. Also, I do not want to provide Toyota with any excuse for not providing warranty coverage for an electrical or similar issue when they see the rigged install.

As was stated above, "Do you have your high beams on or is it your retrofit xenons" said the officer when I was pulled over a couple of times in another car.

Was the range that much shorter? These lenses probably are not focused enough to project the LED lights, thinking I may just order a new set of bulbs for my existing HID kit and throw that in there.

The range was about 25% shorter. Enough to be unsafe for me. No glare at all though.

I want more light, not less.

Glad they worked out for you. I was using the Phillips LED from XD.

Sorry, deleted my post when I realized I was in the 3rd gen (tapatalk) cause your trucks don't use the H4.

No worries. I thought I had a 194 LED map light bulb in the headlights during my initial drive down a dark ranch road.

Why an 11b bulb for the retrofit?

Just the way they mount and project light, thats why he had the dark spot in his initial install
