If you have stock suspension, an emergency lane change with no sway bar can easily put you on your side. I've scared myself a few times on high speed off ramps and lane changes and I have a pretty stiff front setup. It's not a simple you don't need it

Every vehicle comes with a front sway bar for a reason. I ran mine off on my 4runner for years and after time it started to roll more and more especially on mountain passes.

I was on the highway doing a good 70mph and a deer jumped in the road. I hit brakes and turned to avoid and the 4runner pitched and rolled super hard. It was not even that hard of a turn. No sway bar made a dangerous situation into an almost roll over situation. I could feel rear tire wanting to come off the ground in high speed dirt runs also. Now I run disconnects and its night and day with sway bar connected.

Here is a quick video showing how much sway bars help. It's not a truck but still same principle. Wonder how it would do with any sway bars.

Shame no one's designed an aftermarket front bar for our trucks, similar to the currie antirock bar for jeeps.
The stiffest setting is similar to stock, then several other arm positions offer the right amount of flex, without the excessive body roll/lack of traction resulting from no front bar.

I think if you extended the links just a little it would give you flex but still be stiff enough on the road. My 4runner has extended disconnects and works great but the older gens didnt have bar on CV contact issues.

i believe with the currie bar, the actual bar portion is weaker/more flex over the stock bar, but the endlink positions on the arms are closer than stock (at least at the stiffest setting), end result being the arms are not substantially longer than stock as to not cause any contact issues.

Mine is off and the body roll is pretty nuts. I have King 2.5 EXTs, Toyo MTs 255/85/16, and lots of armor. I think the skinny tires exacerbate the roll a bit.

If you DON'T like having it off, takes about 20 minutes to put it back on.

Could be less noticeable since mine is a Pro and has the fox suspension. Can't speak for the lower trim levels.

Whoa. Those Disco Links are pretty sweet. Nice find.

I'm too happy on road and off with the delete though. The Sport suspension feels perfect, even hustling and swerving.

I don't see how disconnects would work on the 3rd gen. Maybe if you tied up the bar but if you just disconnect the links the bar falls into the axle and will rip them up in a matter of feet.

Take a look at the last two pics in the OP of that B/S/T link. The bar end cannot drop lower than the link end due to the hex head. While flexed, one side is compressed with the bar end riding high due to the other side extended with the bar end on the head. It looks like there is enough travel on the Disco Link to cover the full suspension range?

That is genius compared to some of the other disconnect ideas that have been floating around.

Mines off for 6 moths. Aftermarket fox 2.5 600# coils. Drive 101 sf to Oregon, hwy 1 big sur to Oregon, 80 sf to tahoe, and 50 sf to Tahoe, etc., and windy backroads every day. Haven't rolled. That being said, I can feel the difference between sway and delete.

YMMV, but it's easy enough to remove and test. No like? put it back on...

i thought of removing min and after needing to swerve to avoid an idiot trying to make a left to go north bound while I was coming south bound at 90km/h no thanks.

the amount I had to swerve I would've rolled or lost control and been in the ditch.
I'm starting to consider taking it off for wheeling trips but leaving it on otherwise.

Its a safety feature after all and get in an accident without it, just gives an excuse to insurance to not cover or something.

Ditched mine 10 years ago. Makes a world of difference off-road. Here’s a good shot of one side stuffed and the other side extended with no body roll. As far as on road, I’ve never noticed, but I drive like a grandpa. Any thread about the sway bar ends up just like the ones about diff-drops. Bottom line is just go with what works for YOU.

Our trucks have a sway bar? It's been gone so long I forgot they ever had one. :)

So under normal driving conditions you don't notice the lack of swaybar but on high speed corners or on ramps and such its definitely noticeable. I have to drive noticeably slower in some of the canyons here because my truck is rolling all over.

When we caravan, I ask to lead since I will be the slowest vehicle.
