Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Not being able to stop because your ABS computer knows better is down right scary.

All the high performance braking techniques I learned in school years ago no longer apply.

Fix the wheel speed sensor. It could be because of a bad wheel bearing.

My 2007 Tacoma TRDs ABS has never worked right, I live in Michigan and snow/Ice, a bad road with potholes, a dirt road with potholes, the ABS causes the brakes to hit so fast there's no braking force, I've been in about 10-12 situations where I've almost hit someone or blew a red-light because of this! The dealership said it was operating as normal the two times I had it checked out. It's the only complaint I've had about this truck, if I could, I'd rip the ABS system out of it, I've never needed it.

You have a 2nd gen, but good to know the "safety features" are still trying to kill us in the future :)

My 99 Ford Ranger with ABS nearly sent me into intersections a few times. Much happier without.

    1)assuming no abs lite?
2)has taco been in a shop where the abs brain had to be removed?
Like the fender apron had to be repaired/painted?

How'd I end up in 1st Gen. Sorry all!
I can delete this and repost in second gen. If that's what you all prefer.
I guess its the best way to get new car sales.
Anyhow no, No light, it's the original and ( knock on wood ) besides a slight tap in the butt, people have avoided hitting me and I've stayed away from them.
I've replaced the front pads/had the rotors turned, had to replace the rear brake lines due to rust. Nothing changed. ABS still sucks and truck stops as long as it doesn't kick in.
I'm getting ready to do front and rears and hoping I can shut off the ABS but then I do have a worry should I get in an accident they would cite the lack of ABS as a reason when it's actually trying to kill me/us from the way it works.

    NP 1st gen people cooler!

    the reason i asked
i have seen where someone removes ABS box.....then re-installs but swaps hard brake lines into the ABS box
    like R line to L input....instead of R line to R input
this causes issues like you are describing
    and
doesnt toss ABS lite(bc its a mechanical issue(wrong entry pt for lines to ABS box)

worth a shot to trace hard lines just to be sure
    GL

    LOL, I won't tell!
Possible factory error? I didn't think that was possible on a Toyota, kind of used to it on.......other makes. I'll check it out.
    Thanks!
