i recently bought a new axle/hub from the junkyard not thinking it was abs and had the big ring on it. I was wondering if it’s possible to get it off and use this in my non abs axle.

I’m heating the shit out of it and trying to tap it off towards the splines with a 36” crow bar and 4lb hammer, doesn’t seem to budge it. Idk if it’s possible to get it off but it seems like the only way would be a grinder and once I cut through it maybe hit it with my air hammer/chisel?

Sharp chisel and hammer. Just a few good whacks. Try not to mar the shaft.

Are you sure you have to take it off. I've seen axle shafts come out of non ABS trucks that had the ring on them. Non ABS axles I've seen have the ports for the sensor, with a block off plate

Don't do any of that......... Takes a special tool to remove that. Is your axle an ABS axle with block off plates? What year is your truck? Watch this video by @Timmah! https://youtu.be/AVhSDnw2ugo
