Got the truck with a "scorpion" alarm system (not sure of the model) and I hate it. First alarm system on a vehicle for me and the cons far outweigh the pros in my case. Plus I NEVER use it.

Does anyone have a DIY on removing it completely? Or am I better off taking it to a shop who installs these things?

Never mind. Called a shop. $45 to remove and discard and my truck will be down for an hour. Easier than doing it myself.

Just had the alarm removed. They took out the unit and the speaker under the hood but I still see a white cable going from my fuse box under the hood to the positive terminal on the battery. The white cable looks like it leads the the underside of the fuse box. Do I still need this white cable? I'm guessing not.

Probably not but to be safe I would just unhook it from the batt and tie it up somewhere and drive it for a few days make sure everything still functions properly.

Good call. I was gonna disconnect it tonight and see how it goes. Pretty excited to get that stupid alarm out. It'll make battery changes a lot quieter haha.
