    Went pretty easy...

Draining the pan was taking a very long time, so I ended up making a few extra holes in the older/damaged pan to speed up the process.

if I remember correctly, I didn’t spill much at all. Just residual drips.

Once the pan was drained, I removed the surrounding bolts, removed the pan, changed the gasket, and replaced the pan with a new one.

I used the “jumper” method for seeing when the transmission was at temperature. Then I opened one of the plugs (forget what it’s called) until the fluid drained to a trickle.

If you can give me some time I have the procedure still. I’ll post it.

Sorry to bump an old thread.

I plan on dropping the pan on my Tacoma in the next couple weeks to replace the metal filter & flush the ATF. Do the transmission pan bolts have Loctite on them?

If you have a Scangauge and monitor the T1 and T2 temps, can you use the readings from it when doing the fluid change procedure?

Use a putty knife all around the pan while slightly tapping with a small hammer, and off it comes.
