So I’m looking to change my tailgate to a Wilco off-road prerunner tire carrier https://www.wilcooffroad.com/shop/tiregate-prerunner-toyota-2/

What I want to figure out is if I can use the OEM camera and mount it to the new tailgate. Not worried about wiring it up, more curious if it’s easy to remove from the OEM tailgate so it can be mounted to the new one. Are there any drawbacks to what I want to do? (I.E. wiring isn’t waterproof, has a special connection within the OEM TG that helps it function, etc).

I have a long bed so I really want to keep the BU camera

I’m pretty sure the camera has a plug on it so you can remove the tailgate. It’s really easy to pull the cover to look.
