It’s been awhile since I done any and I am sure there are some threads about this but didn’t have any luck searching. Looking to remove the badging from my truck. Is fishing line still the best method?

I used fishing line and two dowel rod pieces like handles and used a sawing action to get them off and just used my finger to kinda roll the left over adhesive off, if u have plastic razor blade it would probably be easier, I just used alcohol to remove left over residue and waxed afterwards

Do I need to wax the area if I use Goo Gone Automotive and immediately replace the spots with new badges?

I used a heat gun, a pair of needle nose pliers (very carefully), and some goo gone.

You only need to wax / seal / coat the area if you're not going to replace the badges. If you're removing the current badges to replace them with new badges, do not wax / seal / coat the area because that will prevent the adhesive from properly bonding to your paint. Of course if you want the new badges to come off easily, wax away!

Your truck is new so they should come off fairly easy with a little heat and fishing line. WD40 also works to remove adhesive and wont strip wax.
