I bought my truck with a 3" body lift. I'm wanting to remove it but haven't seen anything on the forum about doing this. Do I have to replace the pucks with bushings or can I just get some shorter bolts and bolt the body back on flush with the frame?

^^^ unsafe, ugly, causes body damage, doesnt give ground clearance but raises centre of gravity, etc...

Engine freshly rebuilt due to blown head gasket, built my own CAI, EGR delete from LCEngineering, Billstein 5125's in the back with GM leafs, I can't stand paying for something that I can make in my garage so I built my own spacers for the front and tweaked them for 3" of lift.
I bought my truck with a 3'' body lift also and I took it off. I replaced all my body bushings for less than $100, I went with the Energy Suspension kit, I got it from Summit Racing. Keep in mind that you have to replace your cab bolts with shorter ones also.

There is a one inch kit that summit sells, I believe its energy suspension as well and it comes with the necessary bolts, it's a good compromise and gives access for cleaning to the top of the frame.

unsafe if done wrong, does not cause body damage, no ground clearance increase, but doesn't raise the center of gravity as much as a suspension lift does.

now saying that, i would only do a 1" body lift.

I havent been on the site for very long and already seen a few cases where a 3" puck can flex and wear through or crack where it mounts to body. Some people add an extra plate between puck and body to add some strength. I meant it raises the cog without giving you more ground clearance. I would only use a 1 or 1.5" if i needed the tire clearance.
