I bought a used tacoma w/ 1" body lift. Id like to remove the lift but im unsure what bushings i need to replace the lifted bushing. I looked for a kit to return it to stock height but i havent found a complete kit that will allow me to do so. if i end up going the OEM route will i be able to reuse the hardware? will the bolts be too long and cause any potential damage?

    shamless plug of the truck!

Have you verified that there are not just lift pucks you can remove?

Not sure how to verify if they are the pucks I can remove. I checked out a couple 1” lift kits to see if it was that simple but all the kits had extra brackets which made me think there was more to it.

that camp spot is a hidden gem that is atop a hill just outside and looking down the mouth of Zion canyon

If you can find an install video of the same (or similar product), watch it. This will give you valuable information for the In-Install.

do you mean an actual body lift? or a suspension lift? just want to check, because one is a lot easier than the other

It’s a body lift. If you zoom in on the picture you can see the additional space between the top of the bumper and the bottom of the tail lights

Climb under and look at the body mounts. Should be one rubber piece. If there are two pieces (probably a puck on top) then you could remove each of the pucks. Also take a look under the radiator to see if there are any non factory looking brackets. I don’t think those are common on a one inch BL

Well..... Good luck, I have no idea I totally understand your desire to get it back to stock. The only thing I could think of is that maybe a Chevy forum or guy, might have some insight, they are much more common on domestics

yeah, it’s a body lift so it’s not all that complicated to remove. Just don’t want to start on the project without having all the appropriate parts. Want to throw on a hi clearance rear bumper so the body lift has to go

You can go to Toytec and download their body lift instructions, just reverse process. The only issues I see is the new body lift bolts are longer and the threads don’t run the full length of the bolts.

PS, I’ve got the 1” Toytec on my truck and have installed two other’s of the same quality. If installed properly, 0 issues with a little more clearance and the ability to clean the frame & body.

If you’re pulling out the body lift, I’d spend the money and buy new oem bolts for the cab. Piece of mind that everything will be torqued and in spec again. Bed wouldn’t worry too much.

there are only 6 bolts after all, Toyota prices prob ~$75 max.

I'm in the same boat. Especially when going over someone's work. Don't leave anything u do, up for questions. Do it right yourself so if an issue arises, it's somewhere else, not yours.
