Removing bug guts stain from paint

    I tried straight white vinegar and it removed the spot partially. I then tried straight apple cider vinegar, and it helped also. The spot is only noticeable because I know it's there. I then rinsed thoroughly and applied a coat of sealant and wax. I will try to take a pick when I get a chance.

    08 Superwhite DCSB 4x4, stock.
    Olive oil or similar for a few hours to soften the stuff.
    Then the vinegar to wash it away.
    White vinegar preferably.

    3% Hydrogen Peroxide and water is also surprisingly good at bug splats, etc. and safe on the truck. The reaction creates oxygen and water, so no haz waste.

    I keep a gallon of 35% Food/Dairy Grade Hydrogen Peroxide around the house for all sorts of clean up. Buy it at farm stores.

    You MUST MUST MUST wear gloves and safety glasses when handling Dairy Grade Peroxide full strength. You don't want any on your skin.
    And you especially don't want any in your eyes unless you are done using your eyes in this lifetime.
