I have a 2016 tacoma with the premium (non JBL) entertainment package. I was wondering if anybody has found a method for removing some of the entune apps. I do not use iheart, xm, or slacker. It gets really annoying when I am trying to change my audio source and I have to click past each of those options to get back to bluetooth audio.

Unfortunately that's a common complaint with entune. If you totally remove the entune app from your phone there will be no slacker or iheart. But XM you'd have to remove the radio and take out the XM receiver. I'm not even sure if that's possible, maybe it's an internal component now, but in the past it was something that could be removed.

This could be a fun thread, so also sub'd haha.

They really aught to have a display option that can just mirror my smart phone and integrate with it.

Yeah, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay would have been awesome. But Toyota is too stubborn and continues to only use their Entune system that is nowhere near as capable or nice looking. Too bad for the customer (us).

Interesting, so it'd be just a matter of disabling the xm antenna or is it integrated into the fin?

I heard apple carplay has a lot problems. The Siri eyes free works good tho

Both. Just hooks up to whatever phone you have and mirrors the screen. Either would develop the integration app.

It would be. I don't think there is an automaker does this yet. I think what keeps them back is liability if a faulty app was involved in a wreck.

It's old, but I'm bumping this because I would also like to do this.
