I'm concerned about removing the factory tonneau. I want to be able to reinstall it but leave it off long term for now.
If water gets in past the tonneau clip coutouts, will it pass through the bed sides and out or can it lay inside the bed sides and cause rust?
Is there undercoating inside the bed sides?

    Thanks

It will drain out the bottom.

No real undercoating in there from factory either.

Honestly I wouldnt, water gets in there even on models without the cut outs. Just let it be and it will dry just fine.
