    I was half serious lol

Admittedly I have never pulled the front shaft from a tacoma, and I didn't see OP's pics before I posted but one time my buddy and I pulled the driveshaft from an old ford to see how fast it would theoretically go at what rpm I guess (we were 16, I forget the details). Anyway, 4th gear, speedo said 200kph (we were obviously sitting still as the driveshaft was laying on the floor 6' away) and all of a sudden there was a massive BANG and exactly what I described earlier - back of the trans/front of the driveshaft flew out and hit the floor pan. I guess the old ford didn't have a retaining nut like we see above on the taco

I got the solution to this. Reattach front shaft to transfer, but this time bolt the other end of the propshaft to the spare tire. Boom, we have now reverted to 1950's hairbrained technology.

That sounds like a slip yoke maybe. Nothing like what's going on here.

You should sell the tacoma and buy yourself a 3rd gen Ranger 2x4.

You can. Don't give up, keep going.

I told you here how to lock the diff any time. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...g-rwd-with-locker.785879/page-3#post-28128068

Now, because I'm in a good mood I'll hold your hand even more. All you need to do to implement the above locking technique without any codes from the truck is unplug the stock connector and spoof the stock wires that power the locker with a 3 ohm resistor. This gives you anytime diff lock and the truck will throw no codes. Do realize if you use the stock locker button it will power your 3 ohm spoof resistor. Size appropriately or approach with caution. You can find all this info here:

Either way. You all have to give OP credit.
This is either a great troll, or he’s actually going to do what he said.

This is one of those situations where you know going against good advice BAD. But it will fun for a little bit.

OP, if I were there. I’d still being tell you not to do it. But I also stick around and help you pick the pieces up.

This is why you never purchase used vehicles.

I hope OP has more than one automobile. Removing the front driveshaft and installing railroad rails as leaf springs has basically made this truck useless for truck stuff.

Might as well remove the front diff, axles, and transfer case to save weight.

Does a taco have enough power to drift on pavement?

I feel sorry for those living in places with no snow. I can drift many months of the year without destroying my tires or making any mods.

OP, do you have any dirt roads near you? You could get your drifting itch scratched there for a lot less trouble.

Oh wow, I missed this one on Friday! Cant believe you actually posted that.

I was pretty close to giving you a few electrical ideas that might give you the locker in "2Hi". But after seeing that, yea nahhh, Im good! Enjoy crashing your truck and hopefully not hurting anyone else!

PS I hope someone saved this video for the inevitable insurance / court case.

OP might belong on the short bus, but I’d still pick his side over the insurance company all day long, even at night, too.

Him and his incompetence are his business. But taking that dumb shit out onto a public road, let alone the highway...?

Was anyone else hoping he smashed into that light pole totaling the truck to get this goon off the street?
