Hey guys, I’m trying to remove the grill on my Tacoma. Replacing it with the pro grill. I watched a few vids on how to do it. I got the 10mm bolts out and pins and unplugged the wires for the sensor but when I pull on it it’s not moving except for the spots where I unscrewed the bolts and pins. The vids I watched on youtube were for 16-18 models.

Pretty sure you gotta pop out some plastic tabs around the sides

Pretty sure the actual grill removal is the same.

This video is not my best effort, but the last few seconds might give you a sense how you have to pull it off.

It’s real simple once you see how it comes out. You remove the 2 bolts and the 2 plastic pins then grab it at the bottom and pull straight out. You have to give it a good yank but it will pop right out. Do one side at a time.

Its a little intimidating the first time. I was stuck for a few minutes when I pulled mine, even to the point I thought there was something at the bottom I was missing. Then I tried again and it popped out.

I was reluctant to pull the grille/surround too hard, but when I finally built up the nerve to do so, it popped right out.

pull the pins completely out then lift up and out. take pins completely out of retainer to reinstall - then once in place insert retainer in hole and then insert pin in retainer.
