Mine snapped out pretty easy, i dont want to tell you to use more force and have you end up breaking the plastic off, but I am out of suggestions

I just put a new head unit in last night. Getting the factory clock and hazard button was the biggest PIA. I kept trying to pop out the whole thing. I finally got it and the clips around the it stay attached to the factory HU. Here is a pic of the factory unit with it removed. Hope this helps.

I just took mine out, major PITA... I figured out the inner assembly pops out via two major clips on each side, then theres two little click locks on the top and bottom, I used a jewelers screwdriver to seperate them.

    Hey Tex,

Take a look at my single DIN. It's hard to see in this pic, but I wrapped the inside of the storage compartment with self stick felt. Bought it at Michaels craft store. Cost me $.99. I used a regular file folder to make templates of each side, the bottom, and the back. Worked like a charm.

thanks for this thread. Was installing a single DIN Kenwood using the Metra dash kit from Crutchfield.

Yes, it was a PITA to remove hazard/clock assembly. thing.

Those four snaps on top and bottom required some wrangling to remove. Pressing with thumbs on the glass and pressing towards the back, working on it for about 10 minutes got it done, eventually they click out and the whole thing slides out.
