I want to remove my front mudflaps and see that there are 3 bolts and three plastic rivets on each.
I tried to pry out one of the rivets and snapped the top of the rivet off.
Is there a way to save the rivets (and get the flaps off) or do they have to be destoyed (drilled out) ?

i just un-bolted the three nuts, and pulled the flaps off. One of the plastic rivets broke on the first flap, but the second one they all came off easily. just yank. and if you want a little extra help get a flat head screwdriver and wedge it under the head of the rivet and pry it off while you yank on it.

I broke a couple as well, but my local dealership gave me replacements for free (didn't like the holes). Good luck!

5100's all around - fronts at 1.75", 265/70/17 Bridgestone Revo 2, HID headlights and fog lights, factory skid plate, ss exhaust tip, tube steps, Access roll-up tonneau cover, Redline hood struts, 6 D-rings, seat MagLite, LED dome, fumoto oil drain, DTRL, fog light anytime, Kenwood/Clarion speakers, Pop-N-Lock 5300, LED bed lights and a few other things...
On the first one, I used a screwdriver on each side of it and pryed up (2 screwdrivers).
I broke 1 of the 3 rivets (tore the head off).

On the second one, I removed the bolts and just grabbed the flap and pulled toward the front of the truck. They all just popped right out.

the plastic pop rivets are two pieces. Take a flat screw driver and you pry between the two pieces. You are basically separating two pieces. Once removed I would suggest either leaving them out or buying some of those generic plastic retainers that look like the stock ones. Once you take off the mudflaps and remove the rivets there is a lack of thickness so the rivets are loose and will probably fall out. I just pulled off my mudflaps today.
