    Hi everyone!

    I have a few questions regarding the repair of a Bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor on a 2wd 2008 Tacoma.

    1) is the one just before the cat underneath the truck near the right front tire area the right one or is bank 1 sensor 1 further upstream?

    2) any tips on a rusty removal? Been spraying with PB blaster and rented an O2 socket so I don't have to cut the wire and I can still drive the truck.

    Thanks in advanced!!!

I have one of these and love it. Used it on my wife’s trailblazer with 180k miles and the O2 sensor came right off.

I have 90 days with it and can take my time and try different strategies, truck still runs fine. Right now I just plan to spray with PB blaster often and keep trying, maybe with truck hot from driving next time. Does anyone know if I am yanking on the right sensor? You can see it pretty easily under the right front tire area...

Try a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF fluid. instead of the pb

Get you a cheater pipe and put on the end of your wrench to give you more leverage

I would spray it with PB than drive it to get it hot, than spray it with PB again....if it's really the bad, you could always use kroil and a torch.

Your best bet is going to be mechanical leverage. Either use a pipe over the end of your wrench or pick up a real breaker bar:

I used a box wrench. The connector for through and it didn't open up like there sensor socket did.

For really stubborn o2 sensors, spray with pb blaster, rattle the surrounding area with an air hammer with a flat bit lightly, cut the harness and slip over a 22mm wrench and bust it out of there. Sometimes if they are seized you can take the threads out of the bung and you will have to have a new bung welded on.

    That would seriously suck.
I always tighten first. I just want to see it move before i loosen anything that i think is gonna give me grief
