With all of the snow/ice we have had lately the truck is really nasty looking up inside the wheel wells and all over the exposed parts of the frame.

What is the best way to get all of the salt/grime off of these areas?

Hook up the sprinkler, place under car in front or back and slowly move it from one end to the other over the course of an hour or so. Just go out and move it every 15 mins or so. Wheel wells you just hit with the hand wand at the car wash but the sprinkler from the underside will dissolve any built up grime and salt to help prevent rust [IMG]

This salt and crap is really caked on. Think a simple sprinkler will do the job?

Take it through a touch less car wash first most have an underside wash you drive over. I would use this as an in between if you’re worried about too much salt and crud.

I use a cheap electric power washer. I know harbor freight or Amazon has them. Wish it was a tad stronger but gets the job done with hep of a heavy duty brush. It also has a hook up for soap that’s nice. Ever since my truck encountered salt my leaf springs squeak like a MFr.

Haha, redneck ingenuity at its finest. saw something like it online. it is one of those small whirlygig sidewalk washers, upside down, on a little movers dolly from harbor freight. ziptie it on and go to town

Right on. You need to neutralize the salt. Plain undercarriage washing alone is not good enough.

Pressure washer and just cold water. Soap is corrosive and using warm water will activate the salt
