Removing Secondary Cats ??

i was in the market for buying a 18 " magnaflow muffler, the go to guy said i could get a throatier sound out of removing secondary cats?
will removing them cause engine light to come on ?

my truck is a 4cyl and i didn't change anything other than the snorkel afe prodry filter and the aeroturbine 2525 muffler

if you want a different sound go with a different muffler leave the cats in place it will rob you of low end power which is what you want in a truck just my .02

 

yeah you'r gonna need an o2 simulator to trick the computer into thinking they're still there.

 

wait nevermind didnt realize you were talking about the rear cats i think you should be fine. When you get rid of the front cats you'll need the simulator.

Thought the secondary cats are the front ones (aka pre-cats). Never mind.

 

Yeahh i was thinking bad idea also and just swap out muffler. it will have a sound change and probably quicker throttle response ?
