removing spare tire

if i were to remove my spare tire would it make the ride more bumpy? the spare i got is useless lol cuz i put on bigger tires, but just wondering for now.. till i actually get another one

 

the spare wont be completly useless. I have the stock spare with 33" tires on my truck. It's called a "spare" for a reason. to get you to the tire shop..

but to answer your question...I dont think it would be a noticable difference.

Yeah, you can run a smaller spare. I had 35's on my Bronco, blew one out and drove it to the shop on a 31" spare. The suspension and differential will allow the difference. Just don't do it for too long or at too high of speeds.

 

and if you can put the spare on the front, difference in tire size may mess up the rear diff.

different tires size would turn at a different speed...putting a bind on the rear end..i seen it happen to a older ford 150 with LSD

 

Ok, I see what you're saying. If you have an open axle and just slowly limp it to a tire shop, I still say you're fine.

I could see burning up a LSD. Especially the friction plate types. That wasn't the case for me though.

look at the "donut" spares that normal cars come with. They are total crap, but they are not meant to drive around town with either. they are meant to get you from point "A" to the tire shop.

our 31" spares...or whatever size they are...will work fine!
