Just picked up my new to me 2013 Tacoma. There is one thing that is buggin the shit of of me. Looks like someone put a Princess sticker on the dash...wtf? Thinking I could just get it off when I get home it wasn't a deal breaker and I didn't worry about it. Well after trying everything in my arsenal, the sticker residue is not coming off. It is almost like a layer of clear coat that has hardened. If I try anything stronger, it is just going to melt the dash itself so what is the point. I have already damaged it trying to pick it off with a small blade. Can just this small piece above the glove box be replaced?

Test a spot with Acetone. In my gray interior '03 someone, for some reason, had painted the steering wheel, column plastic, and air bag cover with a light blue, I don't know what they were thinking but it looked like crap. It took an hour or two to get it all out of the texture but it worked and didn't melt the plastic. I use that stuff on everything. :p

Will try that. I tried Xylene and it didn't touch it. It isn't the standard sticker residue but a real thick hard layer almost like clear coat. weird.

    ok thanks

Try heating with hair dryer to see if it softens up. Then gently scrap off with plastic scraper & fingernail.

For very minor scratches in plastic, hitting them for a very brief moment with flame from a torch lighter will make them vanish. If happen to get a glossy spot, rub lightly with a Mr. Clean pad. Finish with application of 303 protectant.
