    Hey, all.

It’s been raining a ton here, and I’m looking to install my tonneau cover, And just took the sport bat assembly off, But realize that there are six back plates into which the bolts were fixed that sit inside the factory bed rails.

It looks like the only way to remove these back plates, due to clearance issues at the end of the bed rails, is to actually dismount the bed rails themselves, which look to be glued down in addition to screwed in.

I just want to make sure that I don’t bend the bed rails while trying to dismount them. Any advice?

I don't remember having any issues removing the sport bar. it was straightforward. Neither the bed rail or bed side caps should have any adhesive at all. The bed rail screws are torqued to appox. 6 ft lbs. The bed side caps are snap off/snap on plastic pieces held in place with tabs. A trim tool helps pry them off. I don't remember having to fiddle with either.

Yes. I’ve done the same thing on a 6ft bed. They will NOT come out without removing/loosening the bed rails.

Remove the bed rails, remove the anchor blocks, and re-install the rails to OEM torque spec.

SAVE the anchors for later. They’re actually pretty skookum and may have use for other things like a shell.

Got it done, thanks guys. Not sure what I was seeing as far as adhesive but my eyes are going … loosened the sides two bolts and slid them out but the front rail had to go down to the last screw. The complete parts and hardware have been removed.

Had been wrestling today with aligning and tightening the TruXedo rails and will look to finish this weekend.

    Marketplace, here I come.
