My friend bought used 2006 Taco that came with a lift installed on it at the time of his purchase.
Since then he's put at least 100k on the set up, plus whatever mileage the previous owner put on. Anyways its time to replace it, hes rears are shot and fronts look beat to shit with possible oil leaking.

From what I can see (major corrosion on the springs and Bilstein struts) the previous owner installed:

    Toytec top spacer plates
    Toytect ultimate coil overs
c/w Bilstein 5100s and some brand of spring (rusted to shit, cant make out brand)
5100 rears. No blocks and Original leaf pack

    Something like this^

Anyways we came up with the following for the replacment:

    Remove all Toytec product
Reinstall Billys at all four corners
Use my springs from Gen 3 Terd Sport Double Cab and set 5100s on first or second notch.

    Now my question.
When reinstalling the springs and strut, will he need a new top plate seat for the springs??

Keep in mind he will be ditching all the Toytec hardware.

    Thanks guy.

That kit uses the stock top hat. So you can reuse it or buy replacements. He should be able to sell that kit as it just uses a 5100 but with a custom adjuster that is removable, so not limited to the 5100 notches. Essentially a 5100 with easily adjustable height while installed on the truck.

Everything is aluminum except for the springs, so i should clean up ok. Replacement springs are available too. So another option is swap out the old 5100s and replace the springs and reinstall it all.
