Replacing my tailgate (yeah, don't ask .. .. stupid operator error) and all goes well, but the biggest challenge seems to be removal of those square white speednuts. Neither prying from the outside or trying to collapse the inside with pliers seems to do the trick. Any secrets? Thanks.

If i remember correctly they have a tabs on two sides so you need to squeeze those in, they should be on opposite sides of each other sometimes hard to see.

If you are talking about these, the best way is to buy new ones.
Take caution, they can strip easily, even more so if they have been used.

I think the toyota # 90189-06010 is the correct part.
You’ll need to double check. Amazon may have them.
