I’m trying to wire some LEDs to come on with my backup lights. I wanted a longer length of wire coming from this connector on the backup light terminal, but mangled the wire because I thought I could just pull it from the rubber grommet. What’s the proper way to remove this wire?

See if you can get the part number off plug.
I might be able to help more then.

It is basically a Toyota style weatherpack connector.

Here is a decent example of the concept for automotive weatherproof connectors:

On the other side of the plug, there is a little white thing in the middle. Between the terminals pretty much. It will pull straight out. You can pull it all the way out, it won’t hurt it. With that out, you will see there are little locking tabs holding the terminal in. You can use a pick to pry that tab out a little. Like a 1/16 -1/8”, not super far. Then you can pull the wire out. It will come out with the terminal and seal. If you have the ability to crimp, you can get a replacement here: https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=747&category_id=144

Or, if you want, shoot me a PM. I can make you a repair lead. You’d have to solder or crimp it on, but if you don’t have the tools to crimp those, that might be easier. Also, either @ me or PM me tomorrow and I can get some better pics of how to get it out.

Appreciate it! I’ve got some crimps, so I’ll pull the wire and crimp a new one on.
