I never got around to it but summer is approaching again and I have thought about it. There's plenty of room between the headliner and another layer of insulation. If I were to add more, it would be the frost king stuff. As of right now I don't see a need for it as I can no longer feel the radiant heat coming from the roof so the project has worked to my liking. The car will still get hot when sitting in the sun for long periods of time but I've said repeatedly that the heat is coming in from the glass and I don't feel the need to cover up all my windows every time I exit the vehicle.

Thanks for your help. I will be installing both rolls of the Frost King that I have which will give double coverage for the front half. Dynamat will be used for the sound deadening which is what I used for the rest of my truck. I like the fact that it is made in America since most of the other products are made in China or Russia.

    I got this one:
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Reflectix-50-sq-ft-Reflective-Roll-Insulation-24-in-W-x-25-ft-L/3011904

Coupled with what I've already added to the headliner, this should be enough to calm the heat down a bit more. The past couple days I could feel a slight warmth coming from the roof. I always had it in the back of my mind to add this final layer, but this weekend was the kicker for me.

No, I'm still pretty happy with the Noico stuff. Once I pull the headliner to add this new layer, I'll be able to see if the last year and a half of heat/cold cycles has done anything to affect the adhesive or if there is any bubbling/delamination or damage of any kind. I don't expect to find any, but no way to know unless you drop the liner again.
One of these days when I'm less busy, I'll finally get around to doing the doors.

There's enough reflectix in that roll to do 2 layers and still have some left over so I might go crazy with it.

I was gonna do this... but I've realized I'm to short to feel the heat and went with a thermal layering of patches:rofl:

Yeah, it's different for every area. I spend a lot of time in the desert and the valley where I live gets the extreme side of temperatures for SoCal. It was worth it for me but I can see how something so involved wouldn't be worth the trouble in other regions. I still think you should sound deaden your doors for your stereo. It'll make a noticeable difference for you.

Alright... been snooping on this thread for a bit for tips... mail finally came in! 108 sqf of the Noico pad, and 108 sqf of the Noico mat. Had a buddy who hooked it up, so it's gonna be overkill city!

I'd say it's about the same amount of work (removing panels, screws and bolts and such), but working on the doors is a lot easier than contorting and reaching for the roof. My back was a little sore after doing this and that's with my long monkey arms.

When I first did this I had a different design roof rack that caused a lot of wind noise and adding the sound deadener helped a lot.

Good luck, someone posted the minor differences with 3rd gens in some of the panel removal, but otherwise, it's the same process.
