As the current owner of the first 2nd generation production plate bumper I will say Eric's products are top quality.

Unfortunately his wait time with customers is pretty high... But people know that before they send him the money.

This thread is going to go no where until Eric chimes in, which he probably won't due to professionalism, or until the OP shows us pictures of the bumper delivered, and tells us where the mistakes are.

Also curious as to why pics have not been posted of how the bumper was "incorrectly built."

EDIT: Beat to the punch on the request for pics of the bumper.

What strikes me as fascinating, here, is (1) agreeing to a *THREE MONTH* delivery time. That is absolutely unreasonable. The second is making payment by cheQUE (it is not spelled "check", but OP's illiteracy has already been established).

Though not as bad as mailing a bag of cash, a cheque is poor security. Large unseen purchases should be strictly using credit cards, where you are specifically protected from fraud.

Now regarding the timeline... ONE WEEK is more than sufficient to get something out to the shipping company, then its just a matter of delivery time + maybe customs. THREE WEEKS MAX is what i would agree to. Certainly not three months.

Next, if it took longer than that, I would be right up to communicating with the vendor. If the have a reasonable explanation for a *short* delay, I would work with them. If they cant be contacted, move immediately to reversing the charge with the credit card.

If somebody is running a business, they must fulfull reasonable expectations, or lose a customer.

My opinion here is that the OP is mostly responsible for this, payment methodology and scheduling was not under acceptible parameters. If the vendor insisted on these parameters, OP should have moved on to a different vendor.

Probably trying to figure out where he's going to get a pic. lol I'm guessing the bumper probably has his R cut out on the front.

I have no dog in this fight, but I can't help but think the OP is so upset by the whole thing, he posted prior to spellchecking/editing etc. I know when I'm truly upset, what comes out of my mouth cannot be controlled, and I feel sorry for the OP if this is truly how he's feeling. When it comes to $1000, I guess I might be a little pissed off as well. Like I said, I have no dog in this fight and I hope everything gets worked out. Got screwed over on a motorcycle exhaust in college. In that singular incident, threats involving a pair of pliers and a blowtorch were the only thing that could get it resolved. Good luck both parties.

    A few bolts are different.
Custom fab is in a different realm from your thoughts above.

Being that he is in the U.S. it would be "check" down here. He is also a one man show not a big production company.

Eric builds the bumpers to order, that's why it takes so long.

This isnt custom fab, this is minor customization to an existing aftermarket product.

Custom fab or not, if you say three months, it should be three months.

I'm sure there's some more to this story though, which I'm interested in hearing...

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
No, this is custom fab. He makes everything from scratch and it isn't like it is completely easy to make a bumper. Especially by yourself.

Custom fab is DESIGNING a new product one-off. This is an established product, manufactured with templates and jigs.
