Yeah we threw down plastic sheeting and 2 high stacked sand bags at all our places water could get in. Most of the neighboring units in the building did the same, go figure one of the guys next to us was all cocky 'eh the last flood only came up almost to the door, this one wont be as bad so I'm not going to sand bag' great. Might take it into my own hands and at least bag 1 level in front of their shop to help protect ours. Tomorrow I'll be putting everything possible up on shelves and tables. Not how I planned to finish off the week! :annoyed:

Thanks Zack, appreciate it. No worries.
Saw a flood prediction map tonight, looks like maybe a foot out in the street at the shop predicted, but the water would need to be at least a couple feet deeper to hit the building. They're claiming it'll be like the 05 flood, which I guess flooded the whole street and parking from my understanding talking to the guys that have been in the building a long time.
Here's to hoping the prediction is more than we get or a worst case and we stay good and dry.

Kolt was saying they're expecting 5' at his shop. Seems ridiculous but I don't really know so... Guess we'll see. Hopefully everyone makes it okay.

    Hopefully it's lower than that!
I'd be pretty worried but it sounds like you did the right thing and prepared well.

I work off Mill and McCarran and my office building is surrounded by red and orange although the building sits a little higher than the street. The company before us had a boat in the storage room. I may be working remote on Monday.

Well as of about 5pm they've got the whole Sparks industrial area from I80 south to mill st all closed off, can't even check on the shop any more. As of about 3:30 when I last went by the river had maybe 2-3 feet to come up before breaching the bank and the drain at the corner of the building on the street was starting to back up which tells me that is probably the water table level. Fingers crossed that I return at 7 tomorrow morning and there water never came up all the way. :fingerscrossed:

Closed til just a little bit ago. Just got in about 10 minutes ago from the west side of Greg. Shop is good. :rockband:
East side of mccarran still closed all the way out, looks like some deep water from Kleppe to sparks Blvd
City of Sparks FB page has some drone footage of the industrial areas

Damn! Just watched that drone video - crazy! I haven't been able to get to my shop, that area was closed when I checked earlier. Looks like our shop just barely survived! :fingerscrossed: I'm glad it's several feet above the road...

Stopped by my shop this morning to check if everything was alright. I was there for about 5 min before 2 dickheads from Sparks PD threatened to arrest me and impound my truck if I didn't leave haha. They said the area was closed for cleanup...(there was zero water left from the flood and no one doing any cleaning). Sooo lost another day of revenue....but good news is our shop survived. Water came within like 6" of bottom of our doors, and the bottom of our doors is maybe little over 5ft higher than the road! Hope we're done with the flooding for another 10 years. :plane:

Those 2 dickheads are gonna be the guys who respond if your shop ever gets broken into. I bet you wont call them dickheads if they ever catch a thief breaking into your shop. Just food for thought.
