I drive past this truck everyday. It's up in the houses above panther valley. I will grab the address for you tomorrow if you want to swing by there sometime. It looks like it is driven very little.

Well it looks like they already got a set for your old truck. But here it is if you want to see it!

Yeah...that post is what inspired me. I've been wanting to do either Vegas to Reno or Great Basin to Reno since reading it.

How'd you go about planning the route and does it matter if we go east to west or west to east via dirt? I was thinking taking 50 out then dirt back but I'm open to discuss why it'd be better to head out via dirt then back on the highway.

One of the benefits of doing dirt out and road back is that people can bounce at the end if they're in a hurry to get back or you can take your time coming back. I spent one extra day camping south of Wendover at the caves after that trip. Either way, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, I'd be down for either.

As for mapping the route. TJ was responsible for that. I was familiar and had driven almost all of route before but had never strung them together to do in one trip.

I think its just a matter of getting out the delorme and starting. Then once you have established what you think your route is going to be, run it by some of the other nevadans you know to get additional beta on cool things to check out in the areas. I've lived in this state basically all my life and still find out about new things to check out to this day.

I am super interested in a Reno to Vegas all dirt run..... I'm in the process of acquiring stuff though, like a RTT, and such. I would like to tag along with you if you do this though.
